March 2021: Sexuality Round-Up
Talking about sexuality for a month has been a BLAST and we are sorry to see the month go. We talked about sex education, labiaplasty, lingerie, sex toys, porn, all the things and more. We had an exceptional group of guests this month. Shoutout to Erin Kenney, Sarah Axelson, Rachel Wainz, Zack Love, and Carrie Kowalyk for their honesty, profound perspectives, and enthusiasm for sex and sexual health.

Sexuality Episode 1: “Virginity is a Scam” — On this episode of F*ck Wellness, Lara, Mallory, and Makena explore how and where they learned about sex and sexuality. The group chats about the instability of gender, expected norms in sexuality, and the gray area of consent. Makena talks about the importance of bodily autonomy in raising children; Lara shares her favorite quote from her college sexuality class; and Mallory talks about how she learned to advocate for her sexuality.

How does one become a sexologist? All these questions and more are answered on this episode of F*ck Wellness with Erin Kenney, a sex educator at a sex-positive, queer-owned sex shop. Erin talks about how she ended up working at a lingerie and adult boutique, why she believes high-quality sex education is so crucial to understanding our bodies, and how we can't have sexual pleasure without sexual health.
Sexuality Episode 3: “Let’s Talk About Sex (On a College Campus)” — On this week’s episode of F*ck Wellness, Mallory brings on two college students, Zack and Carrie, to share their experiences with sexual health at college. Carrie and Zack describe growing up in conservative, religious areas of the country with essential no sex education and how it felt to start college unequipped with the tools to navigate drinking, sex, and health. The group talks about how to reach students on sensitive topics like anal sex and using protection, why peer-to-peer communication is the most effective when it comes to sexual health, and what they wish they had known before coming to college.
Sexuality Episode 4: “Labiaplasty, Naked Hour, & The Myth of Sex Addiction” — On this episode of F*ck Wellness, Mallory, Lara, and Makena unpack their feelings on plastic surgery, Botox, and labiaplasty. The group chats about anti-vaxxers, the horrendous coverage of the Atlanta shootings, and why you should spend an hour naked every day (preferably indoors and in private). Makena shares her take on how the spirituality space has reacted to the vaccine; Lara talks about how photoshop has gotten out of hand; and Mallory vents about Grit by Angela Duckworth.
Sexuality Episode 5: BONUS EPISODE “Human Sexuality 101 with Professor Axelson” — On this episode of F*ck Wellness, Sarah Axelson, Mallory's beloved undergraduate human sexuality professor, answers listener questions about abortion, condoms, relationship communication, the g-spot, and other sex & sexuality-related topics.
